I've since found another solution I really like, but sadly its hardware based and that means it'll cost a bit of money. Bomgar offers a hardware solution for single techs starting at $2000 for the hardware and $400 for the first year's support contract, but allows you to connect to ANY machine running Windows Linux OR OSX, that's phenomenal and the management features sound very intuitive. I have yet to demo their solution, but I'm hoping to try it in the near future.

Hey Grinder, thought you said you tried all the flavors of Linux I mentioned, which led to your awful decision that PC-BSD was soooo much better? Hmmm? Catch you in the lies? Haha... you BSD geek you.

But for real, both are nice Unix children.

Anyhow, this article is a good read. Should be nice for those crossing over for the first time.

Well, this should be fun, another flavor to try out. I wonder how this compares to my PC-BSD though =)

After discussing this with a few of my colleagues we came up with some other services like CrossLoop that offer very similar functionality, but nothing that works on Macs like Copilot. The downside is that none of these free or cheap services work on Linux yet, but that may change as it becomes more widely adopted.

I agree with dyinman on this. Look at internet radio as well, another great resource beaten up by the RIAA.

HD Radio sounds like nice progress in regular programming, but I just don't see it comparing to XM whereas you get tons more programming, and virtually commercial free (thus the monthly fee). It doesn't matter on your location either.

I don't think we'll all get to enjoy HD radio without RIAA slamming their foot in the door. They seem to be paranoid of high quality broadcasted content. Why? Because we can record it and you know, "steal" their precious dollars that they worked sooooo hard to earn.

Mark my words, HD radio will hear from RIAA soon. Bastards.
